In the Galley A challenging galley kitchen brought clients to Anne Hinte of Reico Kitchen & Bath. The original kitchen measured a narrow nine by 33 feet and only offered one interior entry. Fortunately, the kitchen renovation was part of a whole-house transformation, so an addition enabled it to be widened and extended significantly. Hinte’s job was to create a functional, efficient kitchen in the new space that would comfortably accommodate gatherings.
The designer chose quarter-sawn white oak cabinets in a dark finish, offset by beige-hued Cambria countertops to impart a contemporary feel. Windows at either end of the room admit light and a window seat adds charm. Storage options abound in this sleek, modern kitchen.
